Garden Day this Saturday, June 2nd!

We will be having a "Cultivating Kids" Garden Day this Saturday, June 2nd.

Folks may drop in between 10am and 11am to join us in planting transplants and seeds in the "in ground" portion of the children's garden.

Please remember to dress for the weather and to get dirty! Hats, water and sunscreen are highly recommended!

See you there!

Container Plantings in the Children's Garden

Update on the Children's Garden: The tomato plants are looking good. Most of the transplants we planted in the pots are doing well. Some, sadly, did not make the transition. I found this cucumber plant in bloom!

This Saturday, June 2, 2012 we will be planting seeds and transplants in the in ground portion of the Children's Garden. While we are about it, we will also replace/reseed the plants in containers that withered.

Cultivating Kids Garden Day!

Ready for planting & painting!

This past Saturday, May 19th, we had our first Cultivating Kids Garden Day in the new Children's Room Garden!

Alyssum & Tomato

We had folks plant seedlings in the containers on the patio and decorate markers for them. Then water the container they planted.

Cucumber & Chive

The weather was just perfect for work in the garden!  We were able to get several stakes painted that we will eventually use for trellising flowers and vegetables.

Fun was had by all who attended and the children's garden is taking shape! Thanks to everyone who came out to help in the garden: volunteers and patrons alike!
Painting wonderful looking stakes!
