September 7th Garden Day!

We had a beautiful garden day today - perfect weather! We watered, weeded, checked out the compost, and harvested beans and tomatoes! Next time we may even be able to pick the carrots! See you then!

The sunflowers are getting so large, they are starting to droop.

This sunflower is just about ready to bloom!

Rebecca, Hannah, and Sasha picking beans!

First Cultivating Kids Garden Day or 2013!

Our first Cultivating Kids Garden Day was a success! We planted mammoth sunflower seeds in  easy-to-make newspaper pots. Kids put together two newspaper pots with sunflower seeds in them - one for our garden at the library and one of their own to bring home.

 Devon planting some seeds!

Max, William, Zachariah, and Gideon working on their seedlings!

Next time, we will hopefully be able to be outside in the nice weather as our next Garden Day is Saturday, May 25th! Join us from 10-11 for planting outside and other gardening fun! Let us know if you have any questions - you can always give us a call at 335-7549!

Cultivating Kids 2013

Cultivating Kids is back for 2013! We are excited to announce our first garden day will be April 20th, 2013. We will be inside planting zucchini, grape tomato, and cucumber seeds in pots that will stay inside until the weather gets a little warmer.

Kids 2-13 and parents are welcome to drop in anytime from 10-11AM on April 20th to help us plant seedlings - you will even be able to plant your own seedling to bring home with you!
Don't dress up for this program (ever!) as it will be messy!

Hope to see you there!
