Thursday July 18th Garden Day!

We had so much gardening fun this morning! We harvested some peas, weeded a lot, and watered everything (several times!) We found a few interesting bugs and had a blast despite the heat.

 We found an aphid!

We also spotted this beetle underneath a zucchini plant!

 Checking out the zucchini plants.

Maxx found a whole bunch of blooming zinnias!

Maxx did a wonderful job watering the garden!

Chloe helped us pick a lot of weeds!

 We harvested some peas!

Diana helped us water (the plants and the pavement!)

Can you spot the dragonfly that Maxx found?

We'll see you next time on Thursday, August 8th! We'll be doing a (really fun!) craft and lots of more gardening fun!

Zucchini and Peas!

We had a big harvest of peas and a great zucchini that we'll be sending over to the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen! We're sure there will be more to pick come next Garden Day on Thursday, July 18th!

Cultivating Kids Garden Day!

Ready for planting & painting!

This past Saturday, May 19th, we had our first Cultivating Kids Garden Day in the new Children's Room Garden!

Alyssum & Tomato

We had folks plant seedlings in the containers on the patio and decorate markers for them. Then water the container they planted.

Cucumber & Chive

The weather was just perfect for work in the garden!  We were able to get several stakes painted that we will eventually use for trellising flowers and vegetables.

Mary creating a colorful work!

Fun was had by all who attended and the children's garden is taking shape! Thanks to everyone who came out to help in the garden: volunteers and patrons alike!

Painting wonderful looking stakes!
